In this economic crisis there have been many causalities: homes lost, jobs lost, and many more people filing bankruptcy then ever. In this certain scenario is it wise to invest in mutual funds? Compared many other investments, mutual fund is usually income generated by the yield of the principle invested. For people who are not familiar with mutual funds, the income is specifically calculated by dividing the principle investment money over then market price of the selected mutual fund, this amount multiply by the yield. By doing this three step process the amount of income per month is calculated. This is the most common way people generate their income from mutual fund. The other way is by selling the mutual fund when the price of the mutual fund is higher than the price when you bought it. This is the same concepts as buying stocks but mutual fund is definitely a much more reliable source, stocks is much more reward gaining but a huge risk is taken. Unlike the stocks, mutual fund is determined wisely through university professionals who take care of your money. They also have better connection such as businesses, the government and more efficient information. The mutual fund price have just been slightly above the yearly lows for all banks. Since the mutual fund price is low the interest income will definitely be much higher than when bought at a higher mutual fund price. Presently, it is worthy to buy/sell mutual fund just for the low price because no matter what happens the banks will not go bankrupt.

I completely disagree with your conclusions, and feel that the funds will continue to take hits. Banks are going bankrupt daily (some with seemingly HUGE portfolios). The only winners in mutual funds are the fund managers, because they earn no matter the performance of the fund.
ReplyDeleteIt really depends on the country you live in and the system of your government. Some government are rather conservative than others. How your country gets most of its income revenue. I live in Canada, Canada gets most of its income from natural resources and business from the United States. Canada mutual funds has a huge percentage from trustworthy Canada stocks with the backup of the government. Banks are not going bankrupt daily. How can banks be going bankrup daily.
